gentSTEREO is a range of remote camera releases designed to trigger 2 or more Canon cameras running the SDM software enhancement to take stereo or virtual reality pictures.

In basic use they allow two Canon cameras to be triggered at exactly the same time for stereo photography. The products also allow the synchronisation of an external flash, as well as capabilities for time-lapse, external triggering, and continuous shooting modes.

This is a very cost effective way to generate high quality stereo images, all you need is:

1. A pair of Canon point-and-shoot cameras, compatible models are detailed below,
2. A small executable file added to the camera SD card called StereoData Maker,
3. gentSTEREO to control both cameras simultaneously

gentSTEREO-proSDM

Designed for advanced users who have exacting stereo photography needs. The unit has three modes of operation:

1. STANDARD mode allows control of 2 or more shutters together and gives access to all the camera enhancements provided by SDM. 
2. SPORTS mode allows 1.33 frames per second stereo photography with one button press.
3. INTERVALOMETER mode allows time-lapse sequences to be collected with periods between 2 and 60 seconds.

In addition to these modes of operation the unit offers a range of features for advanced stereo photography:

Uses standard USB A sockets so any length of type of USB cabling can be used to suit the application.

TRIAC flash output (2.5mm mono jack) variable between 2 and 50mS after the shutter release. Will trigger virtually any stand-alone flash unit.

Trigger input (3.5mm mono jack), allowing an external electrical pulse to be used to trigger the camera.

Auxiliary port (3.5mm mono jack) can be used either as an output to more than 2 cameras or as a power input instead of the internal battery.

gentSTEREO-basicSDM

Entry level product without the advanced features of gentSTEREO-proSDM. Allows two cameras to be triggered from the one device via standard USB cables.

Unit is switched on and off using the shutter release button, so no flat batteries to worry about!

gentSTEREO-repeatSDM & Accessories:

repeatSDM is designed to be used with gentSTEREO-proSDM where more than 2 cameras are being synchronised.

By connecting repeatSDM to PRO with a 3.5mm jack lead a further 10 cameras can be controlled - making 12 in total. These units can be daisy-chained to add further cameras if required.

Installations that use this many cameras are custom designed, this product doesn't come in a case like the other products in this range so that it can be easily integrated into the photographic system being constructed. More information: REPEAT User Manual
