products that provide video switching and telemetry!
specially designed for applications where weight is at a premium

gentvu altiOSD can be expanded with a range of accessories, turn your miniature altimeter into a complete data capture device!

altiOSD supports ALL these devices today, many are available as options to purchase, all are listed here and detailed in the altiOSD Manual.

TEMPERATURE is recorded using a DS18B20 (or DS1820) probe connected to the main board via a plug and socket.

Although the sensor can be soldered directly to the PCB most users prefer the sensor to be located remotely from the PCB for more accuracy.

The temperature accessory is a DS18B20 sensor on a 200mm lead with 3pin plug for connection to the main board.

LOGGER The logger consists of a small memory card device, a computer RS232 interface, and a GUI program.  Memory cards plug directly into the altiOSD as shown on the right here.

The memory cards can store 2047 or 4095 records or events, and can be easily changed, allowing the same flexibility as the memory cards on digital cameras. There is no need to download data from the altiOSD in the field, just change the memory card and continue.  Even recording events every 1 second a 4095 record card will last over an hour.

When you order the LOGGER, you will receive 2 memory cards and an adapter to download the memory cards into a computer via a RS232 interface. This allows data to be collected in the field then downloaded later from the memory card, not from the altiOSD unit itself.
Click for higher resolution...PC GUI Data can be downloaded to DoS, Mac and Linux using any terminal emulation program - or for Windows a free GUI - just a few clicks and you can be reviewing your data in text, csv, or MS Excel format!

See manuals and contact us to download the GUI.

SPEED or frequency can be measured on this input. We plan to provide a plug-n-fly solution soon, Click for larger image...but you can make this work today with the Kestrel Impeller shown here, and its interface circuit

This implementation gives a relationship between frequency and wind speed of:
F[Hz] = (18.9 x V[m/s]) - 1.86.
DIRECTION can be measured  using the compass module CMPS03 developed by Devanted Ltd. The CMPS03 is powered by the altiOSD internal +5V.

The CMPS03 and the Logger can both share the same pins together, they are both recognised by altiOSD automatically. altiOSD reads the bearing angle and displays/logs the result in degrees.

.
As well as making this technology available to you, we use it ourselves to add telemetry and viewfinding when taking aerial pictures from kites; see the results!
