gentWIRE-HERO allows control of GoPro cameras (video or images) via one channel of a Radio Control (RC) system
or
from an external logic signal.
To operate with the largest range of GoPro cameras (no firmware upgrade required)
our product works by switching the camera on and off.
The camera records video or stills at power-up until it is switched off.
For successful operation make sure the camera is set up for
one button mode so recording starts at power-up.
Setting
default mode at power-up tells the camera to record video / images.
This device can also be used to simultaneously trigger any number of cameras,
this is explained in detail at the bottom of this page.

wired camera shutter control via RC or logic:
Please note that gentWIRE-HERO is designed to be used with a
Radio Control system (such as those used with remote controlled planes),
it is not a remote control system by itself.
Triggering multiple Cameras
Multiple cameras can be controlled via RC by connecting multiple gentWIRE-HEROs to the same channel so they all trigger together.
When doing this for still images over time the syncronisation between frames
will drift depending on cameras and memory cards. To re-syncronise
the cameras use the RC control to switch the cameras off briefly, then on again.
A similar effect can be achieved without a RC system.
By wiring a number of devices together in a special way they will start
cycling the power in perfect syncronisation every 2minutes (110 seconds on, 10 seconds off).
This will guarantee all cameras keep taking stills in syncronisation.
