gentWIRE-LANC allows Sony (and some Canon) camcorders with a LANC remote socket to be controlled via a Radio Control (RC) system. From two channels on the RC receiver you have complete control over REC, proportional zoom, and PHOTO:

• 16 speed ZOOM control.
• To give maximum security against false triggering the signal to start or stop recording must be held in place for 250mS. This gives added security against telemetry noise accidentally activating the Camcorder.
• Allows cameras that have gone to 'sleep' to be woken remotely.

LANC Compatible Camcorders are those designed to work with the Sony RM-1BP wired remote, but our product allows you to connect to a RC system instead.
Your camcorder is compatible if it has one of the following interfaces:

• 2.5mm mini-plug jack generally marked as 
  LANC, REMOTE, L, or Control-L. 2.
• The newer multi-function socket marked as A/V-Remote (A/V R) or A/V

gentWIRE-LANC comes with a standard 2.5mm jack to suit many camcorders directly (first option above). 

Alternately a cable adaptor can be purchased (shown right) where the LANC audio and video are on the multi-function socket.
